This page gives a few directions on how we may be reached. Driving in France is a real pleasure compared to the overcrowded frantic roads of the UK. Please use these directions as a good starting point for you to plan your journey, but don't rely on the accuracy of the information given here as routes change from time to time as new links open on autoroutes.
Don't forget that there are a number of route-planning websites on the internet to double check your choice of travel to Les Arbres - we find http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp to be very good for travel in the UK and France.
Satnav
Please be careful if you are using a Satnav as our post code, 24360, covers a very large area. Our co-ordinates are Longitude 00 43 43 E and Latitude 45 39 27 N.
Our nearest large town is Piegut Pluviers. Follow the link to maps showing our location.
Getting Here From Calais
• Take the A16 signposted to Abbeville (part toll road)
• Just before Abbeville take the A28 signposted Rouen (toll road)
• At Rouen follow the signs towards the A13 Paris, Le Havre and Le Mans
• Next take the A13 right in the direction of Le Havre, Caen and Le Mans
• After a few miles take the A28 to Le Mans and then Tours (toll road)
• At Tours join the A10 South towards Poitiers (toll road)
• Just South of Poitiers, take the N10 in the direction of Angouleme
• Turn off the N10 just north of Mansle, head into Mansle, take D6 to La Rochefoucauld
• Entering La Rochefoucauld take D6 to Montbron
• At Montbron continue on the D6 to Piegut Pluviers.
• At Piegut take the D675 North towards St Mathieu.
• After about 3 miles, you will see a small turning on your left signposted ‘C208 to Les Brousses.’ Turn left here.
• After 200 metres you will reach a small crossroads, turn right here and you will see our cottages. There is a white stone parking area on the right.
The distance from Calais is 490 miles and driving time is about 7 hours (plus stops!). This route is fairly quiet (especially compared to driving via Paris). We believe this is the quickest route but it does have tolls of around 40 euro in total.
